SWIFT: ulcerative colitis clinical research study

IF YOU HAVE ULCERATIVE COLITIS AND CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE SYMPTOMS, THE SWIFT CLINICAL RESEARCH STUDY MAY BE FOR YOU.
- Are you currently experiencing symptoms such as diarrhoea with or without blood, stool urgency, or incontinence of stool, and;
- Have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC), and;
- Be 18-75 years, and;
- Meet eligibility criteria during screening at a participating site.
This is a randomised, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study with an oral investigational drug to see if it reduces the sign and symptoms of moderately to severely active UC.
This study also evaluates if there are any adverse events or other safety issues associated with the investigational drug.
The investigational drug is taken as 3 tablets once a day.
- You may be in the study for at least 12 weeks or up to 76 weeks depending how you respond to the investigational drug or placebo.
- After the first 12 weeks, all participants allocated to placebo group will have the opportunity to receive the investigational drug until the conclusion of the study.
You don’t need health insurance or referral to participate.
It will not cost you anything to participate in the study. The oral investigational medications will be provided at no charge to you, and you will not be charged for any visits or procedures performed for this study
