Get started

Step 1   – Decide what you want to do to fundraise for CCA

There are heaps of different ways to fundraise. Just think of what suits you – what are you good at? What interests you? How much time do you have? Look through some fundraising ideas here:

Give it up!

Try giving up your morning coffee, alcohol, sugar or social media for a month – all in the name of raising funds for CCA and supporting those with IBD. Or say goodbye to your hair by either shaving or dying your hair.

Challenge yourself

No mountain is too high if you’re celebrating it for a good cause. If you’re looking for adventure, challenge yourself with a physical undertaking (check your bucket list).

In the office

Host an office morning tea, BBQ or golf day. Working from home? Consider donating the $$ you are saving by not commuting to work. Introduce a COVID-19 swear jar into the workplace and fill it with a gold coin every time you say the word.

At school

Encourage your school to hold a purple casual clothes day, bake sale or if you’re feeling creative, sell hand crafted goods at a school festival. You can even organise a raffle or start a competition to guess the number of jellybeans in a glass jar.

Celebrate with CCA

No mountain is too high if you’re Celebrate a milestone birthday, anniversary, bar mitzvah, Christening, or even a housewarming party. Ask your friends and family to help you celebrate the occasion by donating to a cause close to your heart in lieu of giving gifts.

At home

Enjoy a trivia or cinema night with friends and family, have a virtual movie night in with friends or have a girls/guys night in. You can try having a garage sale online through eBay or hold a music concert.

Step 2  – Get ready to fundraise

Set up your fundraising page
Once you’ve picked your challenge or activity, set up an online fundraising page on mycause, gofundraise or Facebook. Search Crohn’s & Colitis Australia and select us as your beneficiary charity.

TIP: Personalise your fundraising page by uploading photos of yourself and the event, keeping your supporters up to date with your progress and achievements. Explain to your supporters why you’re trying to raise money and supporting your cause. If you have a story, make sure to share it!

Step 3 – Spread the word

Promote your event or fundraising page with friends, family and work colleagues to raise awareness. Try sharing on social media to gain support and drive donations, and encourage your friends and family to join in the fun.

Step 4  – Share your fundraising story

We are incredibly grateful for your efforts to help support people with IBD. Email [email protected] any photos and stories from your event or activity. We’d love to share your fundraising and achievements with our community. Let us know why you decided to fundraise for CCA, what you did and your own personal experience with IBD.
