Camp Fearless

Drawing inspiration from the successful state-based camps in Australia our Camp Fearless brings together young people living with IBD for 3 days of activities, relationship-building, learning, and above all, fun.

The camp is designed to support teens (12 to 17 years old) to develop lasting support relationships with peers, learn self-management strategies, and provide an environment of with similar experiences and challenges. This way, they can simply be children/teen campers rather than people with IBD.

This is a chance for you to have a great time away with other teenagers who understand exactly what you’re going through. There will be a range of fun activities and opportunities for you to just chill out. Don’t be worried that you may not know anyone, remember that everyone is in the same boat, and it’s all about having fun and getting to know each other.

After a break the CCA team is excited to invite teens living with IBD to take part in our Camp Fearless! This year the camp will take place at the Camp Manyung, Mount Eliza VIC 3930 on Victoria’s stunning Mornington Peninsula. For our fearless participants we booked the Regatta House, a modern, self-contained lodge that is ideal for small groups of up to 30 people. The Regatta House is spacious with two large and six smaller bedrooms, five standard bathrooms, and one accessible bathroom.

The food is made on site with a focus on nutritious and healthy meals. The camp’s chefs are prepared to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free, and food allergies. All meals will be served in the Regatta House dining room.

A large variety of both indoor and outdoor activities are available, including archery, a giant swing, a flying fox, team-building activities, and many more.

All attendees from Victoria need to arrive at the campsite on Friday 25th Oct starting at 3pm. Attendees from interstate will be transported from Melbourne Airport to camp and back (the logistics of the transport will be provided closer to the camp date).

Safety of our campers is paramount. Therefore, our staff and carefully recruited volunteers will be present during the camp as well as Camp Manyung staff. All staff and volunteers will have experience working with children and the necessary checks (including police, Working with Children check, references check and compulsory Child Safety training).
