IBD Audit Report

The CCA IBD Audit is the first national audit of the organisation and provision of IBD care in Australia.  The audit was undertaken to collect evidence on how IBD services vary across Australia and identify the reasons for this variation. It aims to inform a nationally consistent response to improve the quality of IBD care.

CCA and the peak learned bodies in IBD healthcare collaborated to design a survey of hospital services and a clinical audit of patient records. CCA was fortunate to be guided by experience of the Royal College of Physicians UK who have implemented a range of audits of IBD care.

71 hospital sites participated in the audit from all States and the ACT. 1440 hospital admissions were audited.

CCA was supported by the Translational Public Health and Evaluation Division, Stroke and Ageing Research Group, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health, Monash University who provided statistical data analysis services for the IBD Audit.
