Elif’s Story

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2011 at 16 years old. I had my first bowel resection in 2021 and have been on Humira since early 2022. Currently I am in clinical remission, however I have also been diagnosed with IBS. Due to the new and confusing spanner of IBS with an IBD, I am trying to relearn how to navigate symptom management, and food anxiety. I’m an allied healthcare worker who loves to travel and eat, so knowing my healthcare boundaries and managing my symptoms is important to me.
