“The unseen battle” – Jazmin’s poem

A war within,
Raging Silently,
In the depths of my being,
Crohn’s, an unwelcome guest,
Tearing through my insides.
Pain a constant companion,
Twisting, turning,
Leaving me breathless, weak,
Days bleed into nights,
A blur of discomfort, fear.
Food, once a source of joy,
Now a minefield,
Each bite a gamble,
A potential trigger,
For the storm within.
But amidst the chaos,
A flicker of hope,
A warriors spirit,
Refusing to surrender,
I rise, I fight, I endure.
You are not defined by this disease,
But by your courage,
Your unwavering spirit.
Even in the darkest of tunnels,
There is a light.
