Guide on Talking with your specialist doctor about costs

A new guide to help you talk about specialist costs

Talking about money isn’t always easy, especially when the conversation is about your health. But understanding the potential costs of specialist care is important, and it’s OK to ask questions.

The Australian Patient Advocacy Alliance (APAA) and the Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges (CPMC) have produced a new guide to help patients talk with their specialist doctor about costs.

If you live with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis and regularly see specialists, the guide may help you feel better prepared to raise questions about costs as part of your care.
