Awareness Month 2017

#LiveFearless

Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Month is the biggest time of the year for raising local and national awareness about Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

To create an even greater impact in 2017, we are once again aligning the Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Month with World IBD Day, which falls on 19 May. World IBD Day is an annual global campaign to raise awareness of Crohn’s and colitis and shine a light on lives of people with IBD, which affects an estimated 1 in 250 Australians.

This year our awareness campaign is focused on increasing greater understanding of Crohn’s and colitis in the community while encouraging Australians diagnosed with IBD to live fearlessly without letting their disease come in the way of their dreams.

As part of the campaign, we will illuminate national buildings, monuments and landmarks in major cities of Australia in purple light – international colour of IBD –  to raise awareness of IBD and empower people around the nation to spread the word about these invisible illnesses and the work of Crohn’s & Colitis Australia.

We want to spread the message far and wide this May but it’s only with you by our side can we continue to raise awareness and funds required to develop new support programs, conduct research and make lives a little more liveable for people living with IBD.

Help us make some noise by joining the Awareness Month campaign and share the ‘Live Fearless message to show your support for IBD patients.
