“I’m reminded I am not just a Crohn’s person” – Rhiannon’s story

I think living with Crohn’s for the past 14 years has truly given me perspective.
Having a wonderful medical team has helped me through many flares, two healthy pregnancies and now allows me (with medication and monitoring) to live a mostly normal life. It’s something to celebrate. Setting boundaries with my time, rest, self-care, and prioritising moments that matter has been paramount for me in thriving despite this disease.
I have a wonderful employer who has been with me since my diagnosis and who asks no questions when I need time off for appointments or flares.
Life can still be beautiful and fulfilling with a chronic illness.
I’m reminded I am not just a Crohn’s person – I’m a wife and a mama and my own girl too.
