Awareness Month 2022

May is Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Month

Let’s #FlushTheStigma around inflammatory bowel disease as #IBDHasNoAge

Imagine needing to know where the nearest toilet is every time you leave home just in case it’s urgent! This is just one small aspect of what it can be like living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

It takes guts to talk about Crohn’s and colitis, so this May let’s band together, start conversations about inflammatory bowel disease and spread awareness and understanding of these lifelong incurable conditions.

More than 100,000 – or 1 in every 250 Australians live with these serious gut conditions that are on the increase.

Here’s what’s on and how you can help us #FlushTheStigma this May.

Live Streamed IBD Information Forum

A live streamed Information Forum hosted by Leanne Raven (CEO, CCA) took place on Wednesday 25th May, 7:30pm (AEST). The Top 10 research priorities for IBD as identified in CCA’s latest research project were revealed and you’ll also hear from clinicians and consumers involved in the ‘Research Priorities’ project. Two of CCA’s recent scholarship recipients, Dr Ralley Prentice and Dr Aysha Al-Ani, also presented about their research.
